Provence, France Small Group Tour Packages

“Our Joie de Provence Tour this past September was amazing!

Every detail of the trip was planned for comfort and pleasure.  It is difficult to imagine an area so profoundly steeped in beauty and history.  Rolling hills and valleys of perfect vineyards, olive groves, and lavender fields, huge sycamores lining cobbled roads, remains of Roman structures engineered to last forever, fortressed castles unimaginably built on the highest hills, entire red-hued villages carved from ochre rock.  You can see why the light of Provence beckoned Cezanne, Van Gogh, Monet, and Matisse.

And the beauty of Provence’s waters; crystal water from the depths of a deep spring that spills out fresh and alive as the Sorgue River and meanders down through the village under your hotel; the sparkling Mediterranean waters of Cassis that carve calanques, fiord-like secret passages through rocky shores.

And the foods of France!  Amazing restaurants with wonderful chefs, hand-picked so guests can taste the best cheeses and breads and wines and olives, sauces and desserts.

On the Joie de Provence tour we traveled somewhere different each day.  Because there were only 8 of us, including Bob, our guide, we didn’t wait with long lines of people.  Every evening we came back to the same hotel…our sanctuary.  We experienced Provence with someone who truly loves the area, is incredibly knowledgeable, and wants to provide the trip of a lifetime for his guests.  We can’t wait to go back to Provence with Bob again.”

“Our Joie de Provence Tour was everything that we could have imagined and more.

Bob Blumenthal’s tour in June 2017 was well organized with the itinerary detailed and all questions answered before we left the US.  Our party included 7 adult family members traveling together.  Bob met us at the train station in Avignon and provided a very thorough run down of our 10-day itinerary.  As we traveled to the various venues he was most personable and full of stories- fit right in our group!

Our accommodations were at a most quaint, adorable hotel that provided outstanding service and very nice rooms.  It is situated next to a flowing stream adding to the ambiance.  We all were very happy with this “home base”.  It was great to be in one hotel…no packing and unpacking to complicate the visit.

Bob proved to be very knowledgeable about all the sights, providing key insights as to the history and importance of the Luberon Valley.  It is obvious that he thoroughly researched the venues that were planned and takes the time to visit every place and restaurant before he takes his customers there. Our meals were fantastic, and the staff at each spoke English, helping us along with Bob to make our choices.  The hotel had a pool which was an enjoyable relief at the end of a day of touring.

The array of places visited was so diversified: from villages built into hills, wineries, a small-boat trip on beautiful aqua water in a gorge, art museums, the amazing Illuminations in Baux, endless fields of lavender and Roman ruins. (Just to name a few).  We were immersed in Provence for 10 wonderful days.

Our group highly recommends his Joie de Provence tour…your choice to tour with Bob will end with many wonderful memories for all of you.”

“My husband and I were fortunate enough to go on this tour in early September. It went way beyond our expectations. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about Provence, the culture, history and wonderful food. The hotel was fabulous and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Some of the highlights were the resort town of Cassis, Aix en Provence and the castle at Les Beaux.”
